Engelmann Spruce (Piecea engelmannii)

Engelmann Spruce has a beautiful ivory sheen and much lighter, doesn't have the yellow/orange tinge of sitka Spruce. the overtones-Engelmann sounded rich and full. Engelmann tops as having a "smoother" and "mellow" tone than Sitka Spruce.

Quilted Maple (Acer macrophyllum)

This type of "quilt" develops very seldom. It is distinguished by its billowing cloud or even popcorn appearance. Maple is a strong, stiff, projevtive wood for back and sides, as loud as rosewood, with more cutting sounds. |
